Teenager's Plea To Stay With Her Mum Ignored By Family Court
A New Zealand teenager being forced by a Family Court order to travel overseas to be with her father has written to the Backbone independently, asking us to publish her message.
She and her two teenage siblings have repeatedly told authorities that they do not want to be with their father and travel overseas. They have told their father they don't want to see him. They have told NZ Police they are afraid of their father and they do not want to go.
We understand a court order for Police to uplift the children has been granted.
These children are desperate and they are acting independently trying to get someone to listen to their fears.
The teenager writes:
Dear Backbone
I am 15 and being forced to go overseas with my father who puts Mum down and makes me feel scared, uncomfortable and unsafe.
I am afraid that if I or my brothers go overseas to where he lives, we will never be returned and never be able to see our Mum or talk to her ever again.
I'm scared I will never see or talk to my friends and cousins again in our hometown in New Zealand.
My father also makes my brothers and I keep secrets from our Mum.
I do not want to see him. He has already kept my other sibling overseas.
Please put this on your blog.
